The aim of all our services is to support people to maintain their independence and wellbeing and continue to live at home for as long as they choose. We provide services under the following programs:
Social Support Program
Our social activities programs provide support for aged people and their carers to enable them to remain socially active and to maintain their connections to other people and to their community. We plan activities which focus on each person’s abilities, their interests and their needs for social interaction in an atmosphere of friendship and fun.
We provide services on an individual basis or in small groups with support from our team of staff and volunteers and we can organise transport if needed. Our support can be provided on a continual basis or as needed, such as when a carer is away.
Our services include accompanied shopping on an individual basis with a volunteer as well as a variety of social activities including:
• Walking groups
• Exercise and healthy living groups
• Lunch outings
• Games and card groups
• Couples outings
• Ipad classes
• Social groups such as Friendship Group, Men’s groups
• Groups with guest speakers and entertainment
• Shopping outings
• Book club
• Tai Chi
• Sunday Church pickup
There are costs associated with all our activities and, for most activities, we ask for a small contribution from our clients to help pay for those costs. We do our best to keep the costs low for our cIients and our charges are highly competitive. However, if payment of these contributions causes financial difficulties for any client, we are happy to make other arrangements.
Under our Community Services funding agreement we offer:
• Breakfast Club at local school
• JP service at Jannali. Various hours, please ring for appointment
• TAI CHI Friday mornings
Note: Changes in funding for BeConnected means we are no longer able to provide financial assistance.
